Life can sometimes feel like a balancing act. A bit like being a clown on stage, trying to balance and juggle all those crazy looking objects!

How do you balance it all you say? Experience helps, routine helps, organising and planning help, having people to support you helps, doing what you love helps (a lot) and making sure you prioritise yourself is a must… the scales won’t balance at all if you don’t put that last one at the top of your list. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone about organising and balancing your life. Friends and family can help support you and keep you ACCOUNTABLE. Another way to make sure you prioritise yourself is ensuring you are enjoying every moment and every minute of your existence, even when pushing out a big training session.

It’s time to find your fun!

For most people who are dedicated to training or work within the fitness industry, training is their fun! However, some people train because they know training is beneficial to their body both in terms of internal and external health results.

For me, this is expressing my body in a way that challenges it and feels right. Lately, this has been through learning acrobatic arts and tumbling as well as creating choreographed dances to songs I love! That’s my fun, and I’m not ashamed to say it!


Finding your fun involves finding something that is going to push you differently, something that you can do in your leisure time, something that you want to do, that you are passionate about. For a long time, I have wanted to do gymnastics but coming from a dance background, I never thought I would be able to transition over into gymnastics which is actually what got me started with training in the first place. That was until I joined an adult gymnastics strength training studio, and I love each class I have been to. It is my fun! Especially learning how to a handstand!

There are many examples that I could talk through, but here are ten that I know people around me do:

  • Surfing
  • Stand-up paddleboarding
  • Trekking
  • Football/Soccer
  • Gymnastics
  • Biking
  • Motocross
  • Skiing/Snowboarding
  • Obstacle courses


If you have recently been feeling less motivated in training, for whatever reason, find your fun and let it fuel your training! Giving everything in training because you know it will make your weekly ‘fun’ session that much easier/more enjoyable is a great driving force to motivate and inspire you to continue training and leading a healthy lifestyle.
